Home Recording

Now almost every family have at least one personal computer at home in the developed countries. With current low price in hardware, we may start home recording by just buying several hundred dollars (US) of sound equipment, with our personal computer. There are many options of home recording indeed. Anyway, the recording process is simply described in following flowchart:

The most flexible and cost-effective mean of home recording is to mix our MIDI  files or audio input with our singing and/or music instrument and to record the master output into the computer by recording software such as Sound Forge or Cool Edit. By such mean, what we need are some hardware of recording microphones, a mixer with basic effect and a recording sound card.
